2. 27 Gigs of Photos and Video – I did a lot of photo shoots this weekend. I have a looming 27 gigs of photo and video to mull through but I’m saving it for tomorrow because…

3. To Do List – My to do list is about a mile long. I’ve got tons of client e-mails to return and meeting to set up and graphic design work to finish. I’m pretty sure I’m going to be playing catch up for a few days. If you’re waiting on a response from me on something please know I will get back to you shortly.

4. New RAM – I’m thrilled because when I do eventually get to those 27 Gigs life will be sweet because my good friend Joel installed some more RAM in my computer this weekend and it goes lightening fast. I’m in awe. I’ve also given another year or two to the life of my computer. Yay!

5. Babies – I got a good healthy baby fix this weekend. I got to spend some time with a few of my friends’ BEAUTIFUL children. They’re so squishy and wonderful and cute and just fun. Thanks for letting me play with your kiddos. It made my heart very happy.

Once upon a time I lived in a place where it snowed.

And iced.

A lot.

Now I live in Houston again, where in the last week of November its a balmy 65 degrees. The only part I miss is this part, the sledding. There is nothing more fun than that.

On Sunday morning after the wedding, bright and early we met our good friends Ian and James for breakfast at one of my favorite places called First Watch. The food was delicious but most importantly the company was fantastic. James brought his girlfriend along and we all laughed till it hurt. I love these two guys.

And clearly they all love each other. I will never pretend to understand these random acts of man love.

And this is James and his girl in his car. And yes his car has a mustache.

From there we headed over to Ian’s new house to check it out and to meet his dog child Curly. He’s a freaking awesome dog and seeing Ian with him was great.

We left Ian’s for one of Bill’s favorite restaurants The Brook. They have amazing food, giant portions and the most awesome Texas Cheese Fries in Oklahoma.

My dear friend Christa met us at The Brook and we took a walk down Brookside to my favorite coffee shop of all time, Shades of Brown. Christa will probably kill me for posting this picture of her but the disclaimer is her hair is crazy from her undead halloween costume from the night before.

Along Brookside are a few other favorite places of mine including in the raw and Purple Glaze (where Bill and I had our first official date).

That first date later led to a relationship and then an engagement and then a wedding which was here at the Tulsa Historical Society. I’ll always hold fond memories of this place.

I suppose we’ve come full circle from a Tulsa wedding to a Tulsa wedding. It was wonderful visiting our old home, there are so many things I love about that place. The thing I love most is the people.

What is on your list of must visit places when you head to your old college town?

This past week we went to Tulsa to celebrate our two good friends Joel and Bethia. I love them. For serious.

There were babies babies everywhere. We got our fill, but now that we’re home I’m missing the squishy babies.

I had the honor of creating custom party printables for Bethia and Joel’s wedding, it was so much fun collaborating with the and trying to create elements that really showed who they are. Seeing them in use made me smile.

It was super weird not the be the photographer and to instead be photographed in a wedding (I was a bridesmaid). In an attempt to still get photos of my friend and stay out of the photographer’s way I started to sneak into one of the showers in the getting ready room. To my surprise it turned on. I was SO confused and couldn’t figure out what was going on. Luckily the curtain was between myself and the heavily spraying water, thank you shower curtain, you helped me avoid what could have been a very wet and tragic experience.

Joel pulled me away from Bethia getting ready to ask about the order of the reception. I think he was nervous.

Like I said it was super weird to not be the photographer, so Tabitha (a friend and fellow bridesmaid) twirled around in the beautiful light and fall leaves while Bill tossed leaves into the air and I shot photos. At that moment I knew these people loved me. Tee Hee.

The photographer was a trooper and let me get my fill of a few shots, the light was just SO amazing!!

I’m excited to see the rest of their wedding photos, I love shooting weddings with two photographers because though you may be shooting the same thing the perspective can be immensely different.

Have I mentioned that I love these two?

This is one of my favorite photos of Bill and I. I’m not sure if we were engaged yet but we were definitely really really happy. It may have been the putt-putt golf or the nice day or the sun in our eyes but every time I see this photo it reminds me of when we dated and how much I love him. He’s the best, for real.

Another photo from Tulsa. This is my dear friend Brenda Horan, a wonderful woman and fantastic photographer. I was fortunate enough to work under her for a while as her assistant and she taught me a great deal. This was in her home in preparation for her annual photos with santa shoot. It was a ton of work but again, I learned a great deal from her and from that day. Love you Brenda.

Clearly I’ve been going through photos from some of my Tulsa days. Before Bill and I got married I was pretty settled on buying my own house. I probably looked at 100 houses, and took about 100 photos of all of them. I’ve since purged some of the less interesting photos, but this is one I kept. I absolutely LOVED this door. The round top reminded me of JR Tolken’s The Hobbit. The outside of the door was red and the whole thing made me smile. Clearly I never bought a house in Tulsa, which was probably all God because I was ready. But He had other plans, like me marrying Bill and moving back to Texas and getting settled back in Houston and all those things. Anyways, tangent from the door, but yeah, I liked it.

For six years I lived in Tulsa, OK and it took me three years to find this bridge and the awesomeness that was the river. Its not like people boated in it or anything, most of the time there was very little water in it, at least at the end where we lived. But here, at the more northern side, before the dam, it was SO beautiful. This was a thoughtful place for me and it got be through a lot of wonderful and hard times.

Bill with long hair/beard + Arc’s Salon + Mel= Violent Haircut (note I love the look of fear on Bill’s face). I miss Mel. I miss Arcs. If you ever find yourself in Tulsa, OK go to there. Get your hair cut. You won’t regret it.
