Way back in my high school days I did a bit of video work, playing with the first edition of imovie and learning linear editing versus digital editing. In my college days I worked for a production company running camera, creating motion graphics and those sorts of things. We actually won a Telly for one of the pieces I worked on, it was pretty exciting. I freelanced for a while too, ran camera for the Tulsa Oilers hockey team. Video is kinda in my blood, but it’s dominated by my love for photography. I’ve always wanted to fuse the two and today that dream has become a reality.

With the help of my amazing husband and co-adventurer in this business of Diliberto Photo & Design (Bill) we created the above video of Josh’s Senior 2012 Photo Session. Josh is from Oak Ridge High School here in Spring, TX and is very active in theater. His director/theater teacher was a gem and let us use the stage for about an hour for his session.

I don’t know if I love the fusion video of Josh’s session more because it really shows the experience my seniors go through during their session or the idea that Bill and I made it together. He shot the video while I shot and directed the photo session. I basically handed him the camera and said by the way  I need you to take this, shoot and follow me around. I’m more than impressed with his video shooting ability and creativity. He framed things wonderfully, got creative with shots and pretty much blew my mind.

I’m in love with the outcome. After I posted it on our facebook page Josh’s mom called me and admited that it made her cry. It wasn’t my intention but I’m glad that it moved her so. I’m pretty sure you’ll be seeing more fusion videos from future Diliberto Photo & Design sessions.
